Ahhh hello again, such a long awaited post but here it is! I put up a haul awhile ago about a bunch of new stuff from NYX I purchased that I was really excited to try out, including three of their studio liquid liners. I was really drawn to these by the really large variety of colors they come in, as well as the price.
Before purchasing these I had been using Kat Von D's tattoo liner which I absolutely love, but found that it ran out way too quick for being nearly $20, so these seemed like a nice drugstore alternative.
I really enjoyed the Kat Von D liner for its super precise pen like tip, which these unfortunately don't have. It much more of a thin brush thats a bit flimsier, but I don't find it all that hard to use. Though these are really opaque, I have quite a few issues with them :( (the black liner specifically).
To start, I find that the formula is super runny and watery, making it easily feather in the corner of my eye and wipe off after just a few hours. Not only that, but they also transfer to the top of my eyelids by the end of my school day, ruining any eyeshadow I've applied into my crease prior, which becomes extremely annoying when you're wearing much lighter colors and you have a large black smear across your upper lid. I also don't enjoy the finish too much, with it drying quite glossy looking.
I do still like the range of colors though, and I find that its pretty easy to remove in the shower since it seems to roll right off when you rub it. I use the black nearly everyday and I still seem to have plenty left, so the real problems with this product seem to rely entirely on the formula. Overall it just doesn't seem like a very nice product even being under $5, and its even turned me off to liquid liners again and has me switching back to my old ways of using only gel liners.

Price: $4.50 each
Formula: 2/5
This is really where the liner fails for me. The formula being too watery and feathering as well as being pretty messy makes it a pain to use, and it never looks very clean! It always seems to transfer onto my upper lid area as well, ruining the rest of my makeup. I've used many liquid liners lately and this formula may just be the hardest to work with of the ones I've tried.
Brush tip: 3/5
Theres nothing special about it, but its not horrible. I definitely prefer a more dense pen like tip, but this isn't the worst I've tried.
Longevity: 3.5/5
Besides rubbing off in the inner corner, this liner usually lasts on my shorter only work or school days, but when it comes to 15+ hours where I have to go to both I'll usually set it with a cream liner overtop just to be sure it won't budge.
Color selection: 5/5
This is one of my biggest pros of the liners, because NYX carries a ton of colors that are really hard to find anywhere else without dishing out some big bucks for a department store brand.
Overall rating: 3/5
While I really love the fun color selection of these liners, the formula is truly a deal breaker for me. If it was just a bit less glossy looking and didn't feather in the inner corner so much they may be a lot easier to work with, but I've tried to get these to work as much as I could including setting with powder and other cream liners but at the end of the day they really don't seem worth all the hassle :( I still love NYX as a brand, but these were a huge miss for me.
Would I repurchase? Definitely not for Extreme Black, but depending on the occasion, I would consider buying another colored one since Extreme Blue and Extreme Coffee didn't seem to have as much of a formula issue for me.
Let me know what you thought of these liners, and any other liquid eyeliners you would recommend instead!

Wow. Extreme Blue is gorgeous. Sad that the formula isn't up to par.

They all look very pretty! I haven't tried any NYX eye liner but I may have to try a few now! :)
