Urban Decay Summer Collection | Aura & Bronzed

Urban Decay Summer Collection | Bronzers, Highlighters, & More

Urban Decay is always killing the makeup game when it comes to new products and releases, and lately they've been at the top of my list of brands I've been purchasing from the most often. They recently released a bunch of products for Summer including 2 new Beached Bronzers and 3 Afterglow Highlighters, so I picked up a shade from each to try out. The shades I bought were Bronzed from their bronzer choices, and Aura from their highlighter selection.

What drew me most to both of these products is the beaaautiful packaging. The bronzer compact is so different and fun from everything else on the market right now, and I love that they went with something unique that still looks really sleek and pretty with the palm tree decal.

The highlighter packaging on the other hand is super similar, if not identical, to the recent line of blushes they released a few months ago in this beautiful reflective case with a mesh top so the color of the product peeks through just a bit. These two really stand out on a vanity, and make a really great addition to my growing collection of pretty products.

The bronzer, Bronzed, is a soft and silky, super finely milled pressed powder that applies and blends heavenly onto the skin. This shade leans a bit on the warm side which makes it a perfect summer bronzer, and can be used for contouring and sculpting the face while still warming up the complexion. This is pretty much the only bronzer I've been using all Spring, and I'm sure I'll be even more addicted to it come Summertime.

Aura, the highlighter shade I chose, is this really sweet, duochrome pinky lilac that's unlike any other highlighter I've seen. The minute I saw this I knew I had to have it, and I'm quite happy I ended up getting it. I think that if you have an ultra fair, porcelain skintone this is going to look absolutely BOMB on you, like a mystical ethereal glow, or if you even have pink undertones in general. Because my undertone is very yellow, I can sometimes find that this leaves a bit of a pink halo on my skin and looks a little misplaced, so I make sure to use a light hand and blend it out generously.

One cool plus about Urban Decay products is that the sticker on the back of the product not only says what the product is and the name of the color, but the actual color of the sticker is the same as the color of the product so it's really easy to find in a drawer for someone who has multiple colors in their collection and needs to find one quickly without having to open and close all the compacts. Something I really wish more brands would follow suite with!

Alright guys, so if you haven't delved into anything from the Urban Decay Summer collection yet, I would definitely check out the bronzers and highlighters as I've been loving these two so far. The color range is pretty limited unfortunately, but the shades they do have in each are beautiful so hopefully theres something for everyone!

What upcoming collections are you looking forward to most these next few months?
