Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara & Eyelash Curler Duo

Am I the only one who's noticed how expensive most drugstore makeup has become? I used to be a huge drugstore junkie, but nowadays the price of drugstore makeup has become so much more expensive that I almost always tend to buy only higher end products now, apart from my beloved Coastal Scents and NYX purchases.

That was the case with Tarte's Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara - I figured if I'm going to spend 7-10 dollars on a drugstore mascara anyways, I mind as well go with a more reputable company and products that I know people love and rave about for a few extra bucks instead.

Thankfully, Ulta and Sephora always tend to make up for the bigger price tags with their specials and value sets, much like this time around with this super cute Tarte duo from Ulta, including their Picture Perfect Eyelash Curler and Lights, Camera, Lashes mini mascara for $17.

This eyelash curler is definitely the best (and prettiest) eyelash curler I've ever used. It feels really durable compared to a Revlon one I used to own, and it gives a nice curl to my lashes. I even notice it doesn't pinch my skin nearly as often, and the curl tends to last for much longer. The pads on it are a nice quality too; normally I have to change them once a month or so because they start getting a slit through where the curler clamps down, but this one still looks brands new and even came with an extra for when I do need to replace it :)

The mascara is really where the magic is though. I've definitely never been the greatest photographer so believe me the results are even better in person, but this mascara gives me everything I could ever want. It makes my lashes look super long and full without getting the slightest bit clumpy, and goes on really tidy and smooth. The formula is absolutely perfect and its one of the very few mascaras I've found that doesn't flake off all over under my eyes through out the day.

Since I only own the miniature size I will say that I have heard of some people liking the mini version even more than the full size so hopefully they're both a hit for me. I don't expect them to be much different but hey, worst case scenario Sephora does sell the mini size alone so I'll just be stuck buying that for the rest of my life ;) I really love this mascara though and the mini size alone has lasted me more than 2 months already without any signs of drying up so I think either size will be well worth the price!
