Spring is in the air, which means I'm slowly collecting more and more makeup to start putting away winter products and bringing out the new bright, spring shades. And of course, what would makeup collecting be without adding my monthly Ipsy bag products to my stash?
This month, the Ipsy theme is Beautifully Bohemian, which I was excited about as soon as they announced what it would be. It sounded pretty and dainty and fun, and perfect for the spring mood I'm in. I also really like the bag this month in person, because I love that it has a unique rope like texture to it. It overall feels a lot better quality then some past bags too, and I could definitely see myself throwing this one in my purse.
Ipsy always comes with 5 products, and this month I got a face lotion, a cheek and lip balm, a nail polish, a single eyeshadow, and a lip gloss. I really really enjoy how much variety there was this time around, and that its really a mix of everything! Here's the details of each product:
Mullein & Sparrow Lip and Cheek Tint //
I was super excited when I saw this product in my bag because the packaging is absolutely beautiful! I love lip balms so I was really happy to see that I received another one this month, but I'm slightly disappointed in the product so far. The smells is kind of chocolately and the color looks beautiful in the tin, but I didn't notice a change in my lip color at all when applying this and it also seems to disappear off the lips in just a few minutes. I'm going to keep testing it out though, because I really wanna make myself like it! I'll try it out on the cheeks soon too.
Starlooks Satin Finish Gloss in Cuddle //
I almost wanted to cry when I realized that I didn't get the Too Faced Melted Lipstick in my bag, but I thought this would still be a nice product to try out since its my first time receiving something from Starlooks. I haven't tried it out yet, but it being such a tiny sample was quite disappointing! I expected to be at least twice this size so hopefully I can actually get at least a few uses out of this little bottle.
Lather Ultra Light Face Lotion //
I seem to get a face lotion in my bags almost every month, but its fine by me because its probably my favorite skincare product to test out. This one has been really nice so far, and I like how much hydration it adds to my skin but doesn't feel sticky or thick even in these warmer temperatures we're having. It kind of smells like baby powder though, which doesn't bother me but might to people who are sensitive to scents.
The Balm Mini Nude Dude Eyeshadow in Flirty //
When I saw that I was getting a product from the Balm this month I immediately squealed, because I've been a major fan of their products lately. I love how tiny and quite this little single shadow is, and the color is this pretty bronzey shimmer shade, aka puuuurfect for the summertime.
JulieG Nail Color in Damsel //
I don't think I've ever gotten a nail polish from Ipsy before, so I was excited to try something I've never seen before since I always go for the same brands. The color isn't anything special and its not my favorite shade to wear on my nails, but I'm up for giving it a chance and I'll keep updated on what I think of the formula in a future post.
Overall, I'm happy as usual with my Ipsy bag, and I'd say it was a pretty big hit for me this month! Its also my favorite glam bag design I've received yet, so I'm excited to see what next months will look like.
What did you get in your Ipsy bag?
