Ulta Haul: Essentials

So yesterday I did a Sephora haul, now today an Ulta haul?! This is madness haha! I've actually had this Ulta package for much longer than the Sephora stuff, but it takes me forever to get around to editing pictures so here they finally are.

Theres really nothing too interesting in this bunch, just trying out a new face powder and gel liner from Essence who is a new brand to me after switching from my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and NYX Liquid Liner, along with NYXs eyebrow cake powder and an attempt to give Tarte a second chance with their eyelash curler/deluxe mascara duo.

The face powder by Essence is okay: however, I've really been wanting to try something with a bit more coverage since I've been getting a crazy amount of redness lately, which this doesn't help combat. I'm thinking of possibly switching to a big gun like MACs studio tech powder, I just can't shell out the money for it quite yet haha. Their gel eyeliner is also not to bad, it definitely stays much longer then most of the liquid liners I've been using lately and it doesn't feather in my inner corner due to its thick matte consistency, so definitely no complaints there.

The eyebrow cake powder by NYX is definitely a hit too. Usually I just use a normal eyeshadow to fill in my brows but I really like having a go to product that I can use everyday and keep them looking more consistent, and I also don't find the cream clear part of it horrible like most people do. I find that its great for filling in sparser sections with less hair or even for people who shave their eyebrows as it gives the color much more drama and definition.

Last but not least is an awesome Tarte duo. Ahhh Tarte, I remember buying their Amazonian Clay Foundation at Sephora with overwhelming excitement when it first came out and they were just getting to the height of their popularity, yet I ended up HATING IT. So much that I had to make myself drive nearly 45 minutes back to Sephora the next weekend to return it. However, I didn't want to judge the whole brand based on that experience, so when I saw this on the Ulta site for pretty cheap at $16 I figured why not try them out again, and I have to say, this was a much better experience :) The eyelash curler isn't out of this world but it does work really great and feels really durable so with other curlers such as Revlon being nearly $8 alone, the price definitely seems justified with how durable it feels. Its also insanely cute so thats a bonus! I'm honestly so in love with this mascara though; I've always been someone to think that if there were any product I wouldn't ever splurge on it would be mascara, but this stuff is soooo great! It makes my lashes look so full and pretty without the formula being wet and clumpy, its so perfect for me. And lets be honest, even drugstore brands are getting quite expensive these days so would I spend $19 on the full size Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara next time? YES!

And of course, some samples. I'm not gonna write too much on these though because I haven't used any of them yet, mainly because none seem all that exciting haha... I'm just not a huge fan of things like these as sample sizes but I know I'll use them up eventually!

I feel like I always write way too much in my posts agh, I think if I wasn't so shy and awkward I would definitely make it off better as a Youtuber huh! Let me know if you'd like to see reviews for any of these products though :>

  1. I'm actually a huge fan of the Tarte curler. It's one of the few where the parts that points out, is on the outside. It's hard to describe, but I have very deep set eyes, and with a typical curler, I can't reach my eyelashes.

I also saw some of the NYX eyebrow powder sets on sale at Urban Outfitter's yesterday for $2.
